Our words hold great power. Whether that power manifests something our heart desires, communicates our tenderness to loved ones, or expresses spiritual insights that change lives, words hold great power.
Some of you may know that I select a word or phrase that carries me through the entire year. I rely upon that word for uplifting and focus every day. A couple of years ago my word/phrase was Glory-Glory. You might have heard me say that phrase a time or two! Whatever happened, comfortable or not, Glory appeared.
Last year’s word was REAL – Radiant Energetic Authentic Light. More than once, dark times overshadowed my normally positive perspective, and this word brought me back into my true self instantly!
This year’s word is BLISS. Blessed Life In Sacred Service. Can you feel it? Being of service isn’t about servitude or slavery, it’s about applying talents and abilities along with abundance and compassion into everything I do. Will I be perfect at it? Nope.
Here’s the thing. Being of service grants us opportunity to give of ourselves without complaint or frustration. It comes from an open heart and then opens the heart even more once we step into acts of service. This open heartedness is true bliss!
Acts of service may entail a kind word or a smile for a stranger. Taking a simple moment to offer an act of kindness or generosity carries this energy of open heartedness.
You may have a special talent for baking and take baked goods to a friend (or bring them to church!) This creates bliss for self and for those receiving such things. Maybe your special talent resides with music, and you share a song with a friend or even write one that blesses many! Maybe your talents rest within healing energy and you alleviate someone’s suffering-even just a bit. Maybe your talents sit within the fix-it realm, and you assist others with getting things working again. Sharing one’s talents with others grants us all another level of BLISS!
Don’t feel like you have a talent? It’s just not revealed itself yet. Each one came here with purpose and a destiny to fulfil. One’s destiny isn’t about making a name for oneself – though that may be a result of living one’s destiny. Your destiny contributes to the world in a way only you can do! You may have an opportunity to smile at just the right moment to awaken hope within someone drowning in despair. Maybe you share kindness or a kind word to someone whose hope dissipated through disappointment and hardship. The little things, the simple things, begin with the open heart.
What word might you choose this year? Don’t know? Ask for a word from Spirit. It will be revealed within 3 days. Write it down. Hold it in your heart. Live within that power. This Power Word changes you and your world!
